The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Wrong Popular RPG Show Track

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated adventure from Critical Role, revealed an exciting opening credits. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for characters such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears stunning. However, I felt that something was missing in the song choice.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar composition composed by artist the talented musician. This piece originating from the official score of the same name, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will love its presence.

Personally, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it improved further when co-founder the performer wrote words to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, a co-star, as well as the writer, the track was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is a little off.

Of course, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have some surprises and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on the streaming service from Nov. 19. If you can't wait before that, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of the second series, the actual play are available on the audio platform and YouTube.
