Afghan Rulers Used Left-Behind British Equipment to Find Afghans That Served With Western Forces, Inquiry Is Told
An informant has revealed an official investigation that the UK abandoned confidential technology permitting the Taliban to locate Afghans who collaborated with allied troops.
Information Leak Endangers Thousands in Danger
The whistleblower, identified as Person A, explained that individuals impacted by the security lapse were advised to change residences and alter their contact details to ensure their safety from the Taliban.
Members of Parliament are looking into official response of a serious breach of confidential data concerning approximately 19k individuals who had applied to relocate to Britain to flee the regime.
The Information Breach Was Discovered
An electronic document including confidential details, comprising names, phone numbers and in some cases household data, was mistakenly released by a worker stationed at special operations center in early 2022.

The source explained horrific violence suffered by affected individuals, including electric shock torture, waterboarding, and violent assaults.
“Instances include young kids who have had limbs fractured to force relatives to reveal locations,” she testified.
